The development of Inputlog started in 2003. Because the existing keystroke logging programs at that time could not be used to log the writing processes of (professional) writers creating their texts in a commercial wordprocessor (e.g. MS Word), we decided to build a new keystroke logger. Another impetus for the development of Inputlog has been the emergence of speech recognition as a new writing mode. Therefore, we decided to integrate speech input in the logging, more specifically, Dragon Naturally Speaking (Nuance).
